Most TB programmes have a large amount of educational material for both patients and providers on TB.

All TB patients, as well as those who take care of them should receive information and training about the disease and what to expect.

Information for patients must commence as soon as a diagnosis is made and continue throughout treatment.

This includes informing the patient and caretaker on the use of drugs, length of treatment, possible side effects, and mechanisms to access support that will be available to the patient.
