Infection control is one of the components of WHO’s The Three I’s strategy to combat TB, especially in HIV prevalent areas. The increasing importance of drug-resistant TB, as well as the impact of HIV infection, has led to a reappraisal of the importance of infection control in healthcare and other congregate settings. Infection control outside the facility should also be considered in settings where there is community-based treatment. |
