Tuberculosis Infection Control Strategies
a
There are
three types of infection control strategies
used to diminish the transmission of TB within a health facility:
Administrative (managerial);
Environmental;
Personal respiratory protection.
Each of these strategies addresses infection control at a different point in the mycobacterial transmission process.
All persons working on TB wards should be trained in infection control policies (including the cleaning staff) and not just the nurses and physicians.
