Schedule of follow-up tests

For MDR-TB patients, the schedule varies:

• Smear: Monthly until treatment is completed.


• Culture: Monthly until treatment is completed.


• DST: Every 2 months while culture-positive (for individualized regimens).


• Chest x-ray: Every 6 months (optional)


• Blood tests: As requested by physician during control visits. Recommended every 6 months for patients younger than 50 years and every 3 months for patients 50 years and older.
