Treatment Decisions

• Stop the current drug regimen. The treatment outcome for this patient is “Treatment Failed” which should be recorded on the patient’s Treatment Card and reported to the NTP


• Request an Xpert MTB/RIF and/or DST if not previously requested.


• Start the patient on a full course of the re-treatment regimen (follow national guidelines)


• Treatment failure for non MDR-TB cases should be rare with DOT in countries with low levels of drug resistance
