Hepatitis

  • H, R and Z can cause drug-induced liver injury (Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) > 3 times upper limit of normal in the presence of symptoms, or > 5 times upper limit of normal without symptoms).

  • If the AST and Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) are < 5 times the upper limit of normal, toxicity can be considered mild.

  • An AST or ALT of 5-10 times normal defines moderate toxicity, and > 10 times normal is severe.
