New Jersey Tuberculosis Update

COURSE DESCRIPTION & OVERALL GOAL
This conference will address current and emerging issues in TB. Topics will include a review of local epidemiology, treatment regimens for drug-resistant TB and TB infection, and available partnerships to improve TB education. The format will include lectures with opportunities for questions and discussion.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This conference is open to physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other TB control and prevention professionals in New Jersey.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this meeting, participants should be better able to:
• Use updated guidance to initiate appropriate patient-centered treatment and improve treatment outcomes for persons with TB.
• Summarize TB trends in NJ to identify which populations are at greatest risk for TB infection and disease.
• Describe how to use the NJ TB Control program’s online laboratory testing ordering system.
• Identify available partnerships to engage primary care providers in TB screening, connect patients with support groups, and improve TB education and training.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
In order to meet the learning objectives and receive continuing education credits, participants are required to participate in the full conference and complete an evaluation form.
