Window Prophylaxis: What you need to know

COURSE DESCRIPTION & OVERALL GOAL
This webinar will discuss the use of window prophylaxis for child contacts in the prevention of pediatric TB and highlight best practices for working with pediatric patients. Topics will be addressed through a case-based format and interactive discussion.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This webinar is designed for physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals who are actively involved in the diagnosis and management of pediatric TB patients. The webinar may also be useful for pediatricians and other providers working in the primary care or community setting.

WHY COURSE IS NEEDED
This webinar is needed to introduce the fundamental concepts of pediatric TB involved in TB prevention and control. It will be an opportunity to learn from pediatric TB experts in the region and share experiences and challenges with colleagues.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this series, participants should be better able to:

  • Discuss clinical presentation of tuberculosis in children.
  • Describe screening strategies for pediatric latent TB infection.
  • Implement strategies and best practices in providing  TB case management for children.
