GTBI has updated its Tuberculosis (TB) 101 from a series of live virtual webinars to a hybrid format. The course consists of five online self-paced modules and one live virtual session. Modules will be posted as they are available and should be completed in sequence. Each module will take approximately 60 – 75 minutes to complete. Participants can access, start, or revisit the modules at any time during the course term. The course will provide an introduction to fundamental concepts in tuberculosis. Topics covered include TB transmission and pathogenesis, epidemiology, tests for TB, diagnosis and management of TB infection and disease, case management, patient-centered care, and contact investigation, through the following modules:

  • Module 1: Introduction to Tuberculosis
  • Module 2: Diagnosis of TB Infection and TB Disease
  • Module 3: Treatment of TB Infection
  • Module 4: Treatment of TB Disease
  • Module 5: Contact Investigation

The online modules incorporate realistic TB patient cases, videos, mini-cases, and practical tools and job aids, with a live interactive session providing an opportunity to apply concepts and discuss clinical scenarios.

Continuing Education Credits will not be provided for this course.
