COURSE DESCRIPTION & OVERALL GOAL
This annual webinar is held in honor of Dr. Thomas Garvey’s commitment to his patients as a primary care provider and champion for TB elimination as a longtime member of the Massachusetts Advisory Committee for the Elimination of TB (MACET). The webinar will provide an overview of TB epidemiology in Massachusetts and address challenges in TB care and the importance of person-centered care in TB elimination efforts.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This webinar is open to physicians, nurses, residents, fellows, disease investigators, community health workers, and other public health staff who work in collaboration with TB control and prevention programs.


OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Summarize the current state of TB globally and locally in order to understand trends in disease
  • Assess the role of person-centered care in reducing the burden of TB disease
  • Apply person-centered care approaches to develop effective TB care interventions
