This is Session 3 of 3 in the Training Series for TB Epidemiologists, jointly provided by the Curry International Tuberculosis Center and Rutgers Global Tuberculosis Institute in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Attending all 3 sessions is not required. Please note that this session is geared towards more experienced epidemiologists. We recommend that new TB epidemiologists attend the first two sessions to get the most benefit from this training series for their role in TB. If interested in other sessions, please register:

COURSE DESCRIPTION & OVERALL GOAL
Session 3 will cover some nuances of surveillance data analysis within TB epidemiology and will demonstrate how cohort reviews can be used as a tool for program evaluation, training, and education. 

AGENDA
The training will be hosted via Zoom and include lectures, discussion, and Q&A.
Topics Include:

  • TB surveillance data analysis from CDC and state perspectives
  • Using TB surveillance data to understand local trends
  • Multiple uses of cohort review

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This advanced training is intended as a professional development opportunity for experienced TB epidemiologists. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Describe how to structure data analysis to bridge multiple versions of the RVCT and account for variable changes over time.  
  • Describe more advanced analysis that can be used to understand trends.  
  • Describe 2 ways for cohort review to drive programmatic change.
