WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This conference is open to physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other TB control and prevention professionals in New Jersey.

WHY COURSE IS NEEDED
As the incidence of tuberculosis continues to decline, maintaining clinical and public health expertise in TB is particularly challenging. Therefore, ongoing training and education are important for healthcare providers to enhance skills in TB diagnosis, follow recommended treatment guidelines, and interact effectively with public health agencies. This type of training is also important for new clinicians working in TB control or other settings.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
In order to meet the learning objectives and receive continuing education credits, participants are required to attend the entire conference and complete an evaluation form.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Summarize TB trends in New Jersey to identify which populations are at greatest risk for TB infection and disease.
  • Integrate updated clinical and laboratory guidance to improve outcomes around diagnosis and treatment of individuals with TB infection and diagnosis.
  • Apply the latest advances for assessing risk, testing, and treating TB infection to prevent development of disease.
  • Determine appropriate progressive measures for non-adherent individuals to ensure successful patient outcomes.
  • Choose resources to support patients and staff for improved TB care and prevention.
