Product Highlights
Diagnosis and Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) in Adults
GTBI has updated its LTBI pocket card, Diagnosis and Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) in Adults (click here to order your copy), based on the most recent treatment recommendations from CDC and the National Tuberculosis Controllers Association. The card is intended for clinicians, especially those in primary care settings, and has been substantially revised to meet the needs of this group.
Using a stepwise approach, the card provides practical information on identifying those at risk for TB, testing, diagnosis, and treatment of LTBI in adults. The card features a new graphic that lays out these steps and the specific activities involved with each step. Information on types of tests and recommendations for use is also included, along with recommended treatment regimens, and information on monitoring patients during treatment. The card also provides links to additional tools and resources. While this card focuses on LTBI in adults, GTBI is currently developing a pocket card on diagnosis and treatment of LTBI in children and adolescents.
The laminated LTBI pocket card can be ordered from the GTBI website, where a printer-friendly PDF file is also available. Identifying and treating individuals with LTBI is an important component of the national strategy for TB prevention and care and we hope that the new LTBI card will be a useful tool in this effort!
