Ensure that all persons in close contact with patients who have infectious TB are evaluated and managed appropriately and that all close contacts who are children < 5 years of age or persons with HIV infection who have been evaluated for active TB, are treated for presumed LTBI for at least six months, if active TB is ruled out. (Standards 18 and 19)

Report both new and retreatment TB cases to local public health authorities as dictated by local regulations. (Standard 21)
