In most countries, TB is a notifiable disease and must be reported to the local TB control program. Proper case reporting:
Appropriate recording and reporting further permits individualized follow-up to help patients who are not progressing. Note that TB cases diagnosed with Xpert MTB/RIF or future WHO recommended tests should be reported as bacteriologically positive under the new reporting guidelines. |
