Molecular DSTA molecular line probe assay (LPA) or DNA polymerase-based test can be used directly from sputum in patients with advanced (microscopy-positive) disease and provides results indicating resistance to rifampicin and isoniazid in just one day. When available, these rapid tests can dramatically decrease the time to detection of drug resistance. |
