PLWHIV with Suspected Pulmonary TB

• Screen for TB in all PLWHIV and those considered to be at high risk of HIV infection on clinical and epidemiological grounds.


• Adult PLWHIV who do not have a current cough, fever of any duration, weight loss or night sweats are unlikely to have active TB and further evaluation for TB is not required. (Ref.)


• Offer a HIV test to those with unknown HIV status.


• Collect sputum from any patient with TB symptoms.
